Year 10 Students Experience STEM at QUT
Date: May 12, 2017 Posted by: Camilla Horn
Year 10 students visited Gardens Point recently to participate in STEM workshops hosted by Engineering and Astrophysics students from QUT.
The girls participated in two workshops, including using Robots to Code the Orbits of the Planets in our Solar System and Building a Bionic Arm which could lift a set weight.
For many students this was the first time they had used coding technology or constructed machines using their knowledge of Science, Engineering and Maths. All students worked collaboratively at problem solving and took risks with their learning to produce some outstanding results, whilst having lots of fun at the same time.
There will be more similar opportunities in the coming months in Science.
STEM Club for Years 7 and 8 meets in A204 every Thursday lunchtime.
