Careers Immersion Day

Date: May 24, 2021    Posted by: Camilla Horn

On Friday 23 April, our Years 10 and 12 students enjoyed a day of reflection on their future career pathways.

Principal Samantha Jensen shared a welcome before keynote presentations from Drs Kim Hansen and Chanelle Simpson.  Students then visited the Futures Expo, featuring displays and representatives of Australian Catholic University, the Australian Defence Force, Bond University, Griffith University, the Queensland University of Technology, TAFE Queensland, the University of the Sunshine Coast, University of Queensland, and Redmako.

Before lunch, Deputy Principal Kath Little hosted a panel discussion with Isabel Bosman, Adele Fraser, Councillor Fiona Hammond, Stacey Mickelson, Annaliese Mitchell, Anne-Maree Russell, Kristin Stewart, and Belle Yorston.  Thanks to these women for sharing valuable insights into their professional lives, career progression, and work/life balance tips.

To conclude a very full day, Melissa Loveday (Program Leader – Careers) presented The 21st Century World of Work.

We are confident that this experience will prove to be a significant one for the students as they move forward to the next stage of their lives.
