Attention, Dads. We invite you to play a part in your daughter’s reading journey.
You can do this by participating in our Read Like a Girl with Your Dad event.
This requires you to read a book and have some fun with your daughter by attending an author and pizza evening. This year our book is a gripping crime/mystery novel called The Fall by Tristan Bancks.
How to take part:
- Purchase a ticket. The $20 ticket price includes one copy of The Fall by Tristan Bancks and attendance for dad/s and daughter/s at the author and pizza evening. Send your daughter a copy or screen shot of the receipt and she can bring it to the iCentre to collect your copy of the book,
- Read the book … both/all of you
- Mark your diary – Tuesday 23 July, 6:00 –7:30 pm.
- Bring your daughter/s to the Mount Alvernia iCentre for a pizza and author night where you will have the opportunity to listen to Tristan Bancks, the author of The Fall.
Please note, our definition of a dad is very broad and includes dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles, brothers, or other significant persons (of any gender) who support the education of our students and want to be involved.
If you would like more than one copy of the novel, we can arrange this for you. The price to purchase an additional copy of the novel is $16.99. Please contact Mrs Rebecca Bonavia to arrange this (firstname.lastname@example.org or 36328575).
In the middle of the night, Sam is woken by angry voices from the apartment above.
He goes to the window to see what’s happening – only to hear a struggle, and see a body fall from the sixth-floor balcony. Pushed, Sam thinks.
Sam goes to wake his father Harry, a crime reporter, but Harry is gone. And, when Sam goes downstairs, the body is gone too. But someone has seen Sam and knows what he’s witnessed.
The next 24 hours could be his last.
