College Governance

Mount Alvernia College is under the canonical sponsorship and civil ownership of Mercy Partners. The ministry was entrusted to Mercy Partners by the Institute of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception on 12 July 2017. The Mercy Partners ministerial PJP assumes the role of the canonical sponsor of Mount Alvernia College. The civil relationship is that Mercy Partners Limited is the sole Member of the organisation that operates the Ministry. The day-to-day operations of Mount Alvernia College remains under the governance of the board. Mercy Partners commits to ensure that their ministries flourish as Catholic ministries that contribute to the emergence of a world where the healing, liberating and life-giving mercy of God is experienced.

College Board

The Board of Directors of Mount Alvernia College is appointed by Mercy Partners to govern the College in the areas of Mission and Ethos, Strategic Planning, Finance, Policy, Property and Compliance, and Risk Management.  The Mercy Partners Board approves the appointment of the Principal of the College, in consultation with the Directors of Mount Alvernia College.

College Leadership

The Leadership Team at Mount Alvernia College consists of the College Principal, Deputy Principal – Student Development and Wellbeing, Deputy Principal – Staff Development and Organisation, Deputy Principal – Teaching and Learning, Deputy Principal – Identity and Religious Life of the College, and the College Business Manager. The team is responsible to the College Board and reports to it via the College Principal.
