Years 10-12 represent Senior Education at Mount Alvernia College. Teachers in the Senior phase are experienced educators who are subject specialists. The College has a significant number of staff who are QCAA Endorsers, Confirmers or Lead Confirmers, well regarded as leaders in their field.

Students across Years 10-12 study between 6 and 7 subjects aligned with the Australian Curriculum (where possible) or the Senior QCE / VET curriculum requirements. Year 10 and 11 are designed as foundational years, where curriculum and assessment design deliberately mirror Year 12 requirements, ensuring that students have multiple feedback opportunities to improve their overall outcomes. Students requiring educational adjustments are supported by classroom teachers, and by the Faculty of Learning Enrichment and Support, in line with QCAA AARA protocols. High potential students are also supported to commence early University enrolments.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO: 41391), Mount Alvernia College ensures a commitment to high-quality education and training. Students in Year 11 and 12 can opt for ATAR, Rank, VET or blended pathways. The College offers General, Applied, Certificate III, Certificate IV and Diploma Courses, and has partnerships with the following Registered Training Providers to deliver some of these qualifications, Binnacle Training (RTO:  31319), Barrington College (RTO:  45050), Get Set Education (RTO:  45252), TAFE Queensland (RTO:  0275), Foundation Education (RTO:  22557) and CTA Training Specialists (RTO:  31607).

Every care is to ensure excellent advice around student pathway choices, with SET planning meetings for both Year 9 and Year 10 students, and ongoing tracking and monitoring of student outcomes at Year 11 and 12. The College expects all students in Senior to achieve QCE or QCIA and provides students with the opportunity to start banking QCE points from Year 10 onwards. The College offers an extensive range of subjects to ensure students are appropriately engaged in areas of their own choosing.
